Thank you, event organizers

In business jargon, you would call it “product-market fit.” In layman’s terms, you might say: “a match made in heaven.” Designing and building products that perfectly fit the needs of your customers is the gold standard for any business. Oftentimes, finding this fit is a question answered informally, based around user personas and an understanding of industry.

At Movemint, we were lucky to have Jeff Stern.

The Headlands 27k (September 14–15, 2024) was organized by Jeff, and was one of the first major events on Movemint. In his preparation for the event, the conversations and feedback Jeff provided around product features, usability, and efficacy were invaluable in helping direct Movemint’s early efforts to build the most useful, modern platform for endurance events. This creative input left an indelible mark not only on Movemint’s products but on the direction of Movemint as a whole.

Building and designing tools that help facilitate joyful events and experiences in the endurance community is what drives everything that we do at Movemint. With the Headlands 27k, not only did we work hand-in-hand with Jeff to build behind-the-scenes infrastructure and tools, but had the opportunity to take an intimate role in helping bring together the community around the event. From running with Jeff around the course creating marketing content, to building a platform to host virtual events with the Bay Area running community, to supporting on race day and meeting the athletes, volunteers, and supporters, Headlands 27k felt as much our event as it did Jeff’s.

Since Jeff first brought the Headlands 27k race to Movemint, we’ve been lucky to have thoughtful and invaluable feedback from many different organizers. Event organizers play a crucial role in connecting the diverse communities that make endurance sports so special, and we’re lucky to get to work alongside many talented individuals that bring their ideas and thoughtfulness to our platform. Movemint is as much yours as it is ours.
