We’ve Tripled Our Business Every Quarter (And We’re Just Getting Started)

A note from our founder on momentum, community, and what’s next for Movemint

When we started Movemint, we had one simple belief: signing up for a race shouldn’t be harder than finishing it. As runners and cyclists who’ve collectively participated in hundreds of events, we knew firsthand how frustrating the experience could be. Legacy platforms felt clunky, disconnected, and honestly, like they were built by people who’d never pinned on a race bib.

Fast forward to today, and I’m thrilled to share more about the incredible momentum we’ve been building together as a community. We’ve tripled our business every quarter since launch. Now we’re supporting hundreds of events globally and we’ve processed millions of dollars in registrations and merchandise. But the numbers only tell part of the story — what really gets me fired up is hearing from organizers and athletes who are genuinely excited about what we’re building together.

The response from our community has been overwhelming, and I’m incredibly grateful. When Colleen Quigley from Team Meridia tells us “Movemint has been so easy to use, beautifully set up, and the team is wildly supportive,” or when Sam Marks from rabbit says our platform was “super fun and easy to use” for their events, it reminds me why we’re doing this work. Even better, seeing Oakland Track Club and Marin Mile double their participant numbers after switching to Movemint — that’s the kind of real impact that keeps our team motivated.

Speaking of our team, we’ve been incredibly fortunate to attract world-class talent who share our passion for this community. The fact that we can bring people around the table who don’t just work in this space — they live and breathe it — speaks to something bigger than just building software. We’re building for a community we’re deeply part of, and that authenticity is attracting the right people to join us.

Today we’re thrilled to announce that Michael Horvath, co-founder of Strava, is joining our board. Having someone with Michael’s experience building platforms that truly serve endurance athletes — and having him believe in what we’re doing — is incredible. He brings decades of experience in scaling technology for our community, and his guidance is going to be invaluable as we continue to grow.

What makes me most proud is that we’re not just handling registration and results like the legacy players — we’re there for every touchpoint of the race experience. Athletes can celebrate their friends’ accomplishments, manage all their registrations in one place, and see their training data integrated right into their event experience. For organizers, we’re handling everything from registration, communication, and e-commerce to volunteer management and sponsor coordination, all while giving them insights on how to make their events even better.

We’ve been shipping new features at a pretty ridiculous pace. Our new AI-powered race photography automatically tags participants by bib number (check out what we did for Marin Mile and theDC Twilight 5000). We’ve added Buy Now Pay Later options for bigger ticket events like TransRockies. And our enhanced Strava integration now posts to your feed when you sign up for an event and tracks your training progress leading up to race day — because we know that anticipation and preparation are huge parts of what makes racing special.

All of this momentum has earned us fresh Seed funding led by Underscore VC, who also led our pre-Seed round, with meaningful participation from Michael Horvath and Green D Ventures. Having investors who truly understand what we’re building — and having legends like Michael Horvath join us — gives us the support and runway to keep shipping at this pace.

But here’s the thing: we’re just getting started. Our roadmap is ambitious, and it’s built around four core areas that matter most to our community. We want to give organizers the absolute best tools to manage events. We want to help them maximize their events’ potential with data-driven insights. We want to support athletes throughout their entire race journey — not just on race day. And we want to boost event awareness by leveraging social connections and making great events easier to discover.

To every organizer who’s trusted us with their event, every athlete who’s signed up through our platform, every photographer who’s used our new tools — thank you. You’re not just customers or users, you’re the reason we exist. The endurance community has this incredible spirit of pushing each other to be better, and that’s exactly what you’re doing for us every day.

We’re processing registrations for some of the most iconic events in the world — Tracksmith Twilight 5000, Grasshopper Adventure Series, Rock Cobbler, Vermont Overland, TransRockies— and honestly, it never gets old seeing those event pages come to life and knowing we’re part of creating those magical race day experiences.

With over 70,000 endurance events happening annually in the US alone and billions in global event spending, we know there’s a massive opportunity ahead. But more than that, there’s a chance to transform how our community experiences the events and activities we all love.

The pace isn’t slowing down — if anything, we’re just hitting our stride. Here’s to more miles, more events, and building the platform our athletic community deserves.
