About SFRC Women's Trail Half Marathon presented by The North Face

The Marin Headlands are SFRC's backyard playground; a network of stunning singletrack, sweeping views, challenging climbs, and exhilarating descents. This fall marks the annual women's half through some of Marin's most iconic terrain. The brand-new half marathon course was thoughtfully crafted to showcase the best the Headlands have to offer, equal parts grit and grace, effort and reward.

We are proud to continue our Get Her Over The Bridge initiative, a program built to help women cross both literal and metaphorical bridges to the trails of Marin.

Community Group Runs: SFRC will host four no-drop trail runs led by Trail Sisters of Marin (August 8th, September 5th, September 19th, October 3rd). These are open to all race participants and will feature The North Face demo shoes to test out on the terrain and nutrition from our sponsors.

Training & Race Preparation: 

Your race experience starts long before race day. Through our partnership with Integrated Stride Coaching, you'll receive a professionally designed training plan tailored to your experience level, plus access to three live virtual coaching sessions with Coaches Kristen Schindler and Maddie Hart. Together, we'll cover training, mental performance, race-day strategy, Q&A, and guided planning exercises to help you feel prepared every step of the way. Each participant will also receive a complimentary one-on-one consultation with a dedicated coach for personalized support, training guidance, and answers to your individual questions before race day. As an added bonus, participants will receive an exclusive discount code for individualized 1:1 coaching with Integrated Stride Coaching following the event, should you choose to continue your running journey with us.

Chartered Transportation: To make logistics easier, we're offering shuttle service for runners traveling from San Francisco, with convenient pickup and drop-off locations.

Childcare Grants: To help remove barriers to participation, SFRC is proud to provide twenty (20) $250 Childcare Grants to participating mothers. These grants are designed to ease the financial burden of childcare, making it easier for moms to get over the bridge and to the starting line. By investing in childcare support, SFRC is committed to creating a more accessible and inclusive race experience, ensuring that more mothers have the opportunity to prioritize their health, wellness, and personal goals. Prize Purse: The SFRC Women’s Half presented by The North Face is proud to recognize and reward outstanding performances on the trails with a competitive prize purse. Designed to celebrate the strength, determination, and achievements of women in trail running, the $25,000.00 prize purse highlights our commitment to elevating and supporting female athletes while fostering an inclusive and inspiring race experience.

Pregnancy & Postpartum Deferral Policy: SFRC proudly offers a one-time pregnancy and postpartum deferral for registered participants who are unable to race due to pregnancy, childbirth, or postpartum recovery. Eligible runners may transfer their registration to the following year's event at no additional cost by submitting a request at least 14 days before race day. This policy reflects our commitment to helping women feel supported in pursuing both motherhood and their running goals, ensuring they can return to the starting line when the time is right.

Menstrual Products at Aid Stations: To help runners feel prepared and supported on race day, menstrual products will be available at all aid stations along the course. By providing access to these essential supplies, SFRC is creating a more thoughtful and inclusive race experience so participants can focus on the miles ahead.

COURSE

The SFRC Women's Trail Half Marathon presented by The North Face will take runners on a 13.6-mile adventure showcasing the very best of the Marin Headlands. With 2,156 feet of climbing, runners will traverse rolling singletrack, iconic coastal ridgelines, and sweeping views of the Pacific, San Francisco Bay, and Golden Gate Bridge. The course delivers a rewarding mix of challenge and beauty, while a generous 5.5-hour cutoff ensures participants can embrace the experience at their own pace. Whether you're chasing a podium finish or soaking in every mile, this unforgettable journey through Marin's backyard promises equal parts grit, community, and inspiration.

Post Race: After conquering the trails, we'll gather at The Junction (226 Shoreline Hwy, Mill Valley, CA 94941) to celebrate your accomplishments. Whether you're celebrating a PR, a first finish, or simply a day well spent on the trails, we invite you to join fellow runners, family, and friends for food, drinks, awards, and the camaraderie that makes the SFRC community so special.

Dog Policy: Dogs are not allowed on the course as it runs through a National Recreation Area.

PACKET PICKUP

Packet pickup for the SFRC Women's Trail Half presented by The North Face will take place on Thursday, October 22nd and Friday, October 23rd from 12:00pm - 6:00pm at San Francisco Running Company (247 Shoreline Hwy, Mill Valley, CA 94941). All participants must pick up their race packet during one of these two windows. Please note, there will be no race-day packet pick-up.

Can't Make Packet Pick-Up? No problem! A friend or family member can pick up your race packet on your behalf. Simply provide them with your Registration Confirmation Email or a text message, email, or signed note authorizing them to collect your race kit.
