About BALDYDASH
Welcome to Baldydash 2026!
The ~5 mile run, hike, walk (or whatever it becomes) up and down San Anselmo’s Bald Hill.
We’re holding our 3rd annual Baldydash on Saturday, August 29th at 4:30PM.
The basics stay the same. We’ll meet in San Anselmo (new start: Robson House), slug our way up Bald Hill (aka Baldy), then come back down to celebrate at Live on the Avenue and crown our champion…"The Averager" (the person who finishes dead in the middle).
We’ve got some fun new things in the mix. Fresh merch, a blend of old and new sponsors, official endorsement the town of San Anselmo (we made it!), more nonprofit beneficiaries, a better marked route (thanks AllTrails), possible childcare, and more. We will continue to update this page as new things develop.
The goals of Baldydash remains simple: bring good people together, get outside, move your body, support local business, score a new t-shirt, and celebrate at the finish with live music and a cold beverage.
Please spread the word. Tell your friends. And start mentally (and physically, if you so choose) preparing for Baldy!
THE ROUTE:
Start: Robson House
Finish: Imagination Park — downtown San Anselmo (Live on the Avenue)
Distance: 4.75 miles
Elevation Gain: ~1,200 feet
Terrain: Steep trail — run, hike, or walk
FAQ:
You're questions, answered.
Where does Baldydash start and finish? We start at Robson House and finish downtown at Imagination Park for Live on the Avenue.
Can I walk or hike? Absolutely. Encouraged, even. There's a strong chance everyone will be walking at some point. It's steep. Go at the pace that brings you the most joy.
Does the money go to a good cause? Yes. After covering the costs of your swag, the remainder of your registration fees will go to support San Anselmo's Live on the Avenue and The YES Foundation.
What's the start time? 4:30 PM sharp-ish. We'll get everyone rolling together.
How long is Baldydash? 4.75 miles. All of them count.
How much vertical are we talking? ~1,200 feet. You'll feel it.
When do I need to sign up to guarantee a t-shirt? By July 29. We'll order a few extras, but no promises if you roll in late.
When do I get my t-shirt? At the finish. All Baldydash participants will receive a race t-shirt and other swag the day of the event.
Will my time be tracked? Not officially. This isn't really about that.
Is there a winner? Sure, someone will get there first. But Baldydash is really about "The Averager" — the person who finishes right in the middle. That's our kind of champion. And they receive the grand prize.
What happens after I finish? You grab your t-shirt, enjoy a cold drink, listen to live music, and hang out with everyone at Live on the Avenue. This is where it all comes together.
Who can sign up? Anyone who thinks it sounds fun to climb Baldy and celebrate after. No speed or zip code requirements. That said, it's a tough, steep course. Probably not ideal for little kids just yet. But we've seen some impressive efforts, including a runner with a baby on their back. So... you do you.
