About
This isn’t just a race — it’s a celebration.
Bay to Breakers is San Francisco’s most iconic footrace, known for its bold costumes, boundless energy, and the vibrant spirit of a city that knows how to put on a show. Whether you’re running for a PR or walking in a tutu with your crew, this race is made for everyone.
Cheered on by some of the most spirited crowds in the country, you’ll make your way from the Bay to the breakers of Ocean Beach - pushing boundaries, having fun, and becoming part of a tradition that’s been going strong since 1912.
The Course:
Your 12K journey kicks off in the heart of the Embarcadero, winding through nine of San Francisco’s most iconic neighborhoods. From the steep climbs of Hayes Street Hill to the scenic beauty of Golden Gate Park, the course is as legendary as the event itself. You’ll finish where the city meets the sea—on the Great Highway, with the crashing waves of Ocean Beach as your backdrop.
