Bighorn Road Denver Field Trip
About
Come ride with 5G and Bighorn Road on August 2nd at the Waterton Canyon parking lot for a morning of bikes, breakfast, and good company.
We’ll kick things off with a complimentary pancake breakfast at 10:30am, then roll into a two-part road+ ride (~30 miles | 700 ft gain) including a scenic out-and-back up Waterton Canyon (fast dirt), followed by a loop around Chatfield Reservoir/High Line Canal (fast dirt + asphalt).
Whether you’re on a road or a gravel bike, all are welcome. Bring your stoke—we’ll see you there!
About Bighorn Road
Bighorn Road will capture all of the best elements of classic fondo events, with our usual adventurous twists: our 80-mile “Stone Sheep” course features 5,000 feet of climbing along the Colorado and Eagle Rivers, plus a 20-mile section of hardpacked dirt to keep things western. It’s the perfect long ride for a modern road bike, covering cell-signal-free country with the security of aid stations and police traffic control. The shorter “Dall Sheep” course is an out and back of 31 miles, with a few punchy climbs and 100% tarmac goodness. While short on distance, this course is still huge on views and excellent, twisting, roads.
Huge thanks to The Town of Gypsum for their generous support and helping us create these unique events. Thanks to their support, we’re able to offer onsite camping, complete with showers and bathrooms.
