About Bowmont Park 2027

Join us at Bowmont Park for a 5 Peaks Trail Run for all ages, abilities, and ambitions.

Join us for the third event in the 5 Peaks Trail Running Series on the scenic trails of Bowmont Park in northwest Calgary. Overlooking the beautiful Bow River, Bowmont Park offers a singletrack focused route that will challenge runners with punchy climbs and fast descents. Beautiful Bow River valley and city skyline views. Distances for all ages, abilities and ambitions.

The Bowmont Park race starts in Varsity Village Park next to Christine Meikle School. Runners begin with a traverse west along local favourite trail, Sideshow Bob. Built into the side of a cliff, Sideshow Bob offers spectacular views of the valley and river below.

Dropping into Dale Hodges Park, runners will briefly head east on singletrack before looping west through the park and connecting to trails running parallel to the Bow River. Arriving at Silverthorn Park, Sport runners will begin their return trip to the start.

Bowmont Park lies along the northern bank of the Bow River in the northwest part of Calgary and provides an opportunity to experience a mature riverine forest with its abundance of flora and fauna. The terrain has plenty of rooty, steep single track, rolling hills through fields of long grass, and some gravelly trail.

5 Peaks races are known for their incredible staff and volunteers, abundant food, great swag, and commitment to sound environmental practices.

• Sport Run or Hike – 7.4 km
• Enduro Run or Hike – 11.7 km
