About Chickakoo 2027
Join us for the fourth of five events in the 5 Peaks Trail Running Series in Northern Alberta at Chickakoo Lake Recreation Area, in Parkland County — approximately 30 minutes west of Edmonton.
Chickakoo offers 480 acres of scenic mix of woods and lakes that attracts a diversity of birds and other wildlife such as moose, deer, beavers, and more. It is a popular destination for runners, hikers, cyclists, and horseback riders in summer and is groomed for cross country skiers in winter.
The race route is known for grinding hill climbs, technical singletrack, steep downhills, and fast hard pack sections. The start/finish is located at the main parking lot and runners quickly make their way deep into the park and through the singletrack. Towards the end of the race, runners are treated to fantastic views from the top of the ridge at the last hill climb before descending back to the start/finish.
Race distances and maps are subject to change based on trail conditions up to the day of the race.
