The Dusty Bandita is more than a women+ gravel bike race - it's a bold claim on space in a male-dominated sport, daring women+ to go beyond their limits with a smirk of determination and a whole lot of grit. Together we dig deep, crush brutal climbs, and rip the inside line, all while soaking up that crisp Montana air and leaving our cares in the dust. Whether you're racing to win or adventuring for the thrill, it's about freedom, confidence, and growing the movement of women+ cyclists locally and beyond. See you at the starting line!

MISSION STATEMENT
The Dusty Bandita is an event dedicated to increasing the presence of all identifying women at cycling events by providing a safe and encouraging environment where one can build confidence, push limits, explore beautiful places, and experience an invigorating camaraderie on and off the bike.

DISTANCE OPTIONS (courses subject to change pending snowpack and weather conditions):

• 45-ish mile (~2,500' of climbing)

• 85-ish mile (~6,500' of climbing)

REGISTRATION INCLUDES:

• Race entry

• Race packet / goodies from sponsors

• Post-race food and beverage for racer only (food by Chef Liz Kenyon!)

• Raffle tickets for amazing post-race raffle prizes

• Finishers bandana

• Podiums for top 5 in each distance, top 3 non-binary, top 3 age categories 40+, 50+, 60+, top 3 para cycling

• Bandita status and being surrounded by fellow Banditas!

PRIZE PURSE:
85-mile: $1,000 / $500 / $250 (1st / 2nd / 3rd overall)
45-mile: $250 / $100 / $50 (1st / 2nd / 3rd overall)

TIME PRIZE: Complete the long course in under 5:30 and receive a custom Bandana slide from VT Clayworks.

USAC insured gravel event — no license needed.

INCLUSIVITY STATEMENT
Founded in 2022, The Dusty Bandita was the first women's gravel bike race in the U.S. We are an inclusive, affirming space for all riders who identify as women, non-binary, or gender-queer. Participation is reserved for women+; men are warmly welcomed as spectators and volunteers.

REFUND / TRANSFER POLICY
No refunds unless the race is canceled due to unforeseen circumstances (wildfire, flooding, severe weather) — in which case, racers may defer to the following year or receive a 50% refund. Participants may receive a transfer-refund if their spot is filled from the waitlist, or if they find their own transfer ($15 fee, by 5/23/26). Downgrading: no refund. Upgrading: pay the difference (email by 5/30/26). Pregnancy policy: contact the Race Director for deferral, transfer + $10 fee, or 50% refund by 5/30/26. No deferrals outside the pregnancy exception.
