About Great American Triathlon
Get your paddles ready for the 7th annual Great American Triathlon, the Sacramento region's premier summertime event set on the stunning American River Parkway.
The Great American Triathlon is a challenging athletic competition that is as unique as it is fun. Following the historic route of Eppie's Great Race, the Great American Triathlon includes a 5.8-mile run, a 12.5-mile bike ride, and a 6.1-mile paddle, with categories for competitors of all types — from world-class athletes to families seeking to create a new family tradition.
The event begins with a 5.8-mile run downriver from William B. Pond Park in Carmichael to Guy West Bridge at Sac State, followed by a 12.5-mile bike ride from Sac State to the Sunrise Bridge in Fair Oaks, and concludes with a 6.1-mile paddle from the Sunrise Bridge to River Bend Park in Rancho Cordova. The entire race takes place within the scenic American River Parkway — one of the most accessible waterways in America and the crown jewel of the Sacramento County Regional Parks Department.
You can compete as an individual Ironperson or as part of a relay team in categories for all skill levels. Space is limited to 250 teams and 600 Ironperson competitors, so sign up today!
Included in your entry is a premium event tee, finisher medal, food truck voucher, beer garden with live entertainment, free race photos and parking.
