About Lake Sonoma MTB: Grasshopper 2026
Ride Details
The Lake Sonoma MTB Grasshopper is a thrilling mountain bike race that challenges riders with some of the most technical, flowy singletrack in Northern California. Set in the rugged landscape around Lake Sonoma, this 28.5-mile course features steep climbs, fast descents, and over 5,351 ft of climbing—with no easy way out. The race starts "en masse" from the bottom of the dam and climbs 2.25 miles before hitting the single track. The course enters the South Lake Trailhead and traverses the lake for 20 miles before hitting Bummer Peak Climb. From here you climb over 1,000 ft over the next 3 miles followed by a traverse around Bummer Peak on your way to North Slope and Boar Scat. At mile 26 you cross over Rock Pile Rd and then descend 700 ft. (with a few short climbs) to the finish at Dry Creek Parking area.
