About Run for Recovery 2026

Join Nth Degree Athletic Club for our inaugural road 5K along Crissy Field! This flat and fast course features expansive views of the San Francisco Bay and Golden Gate Bridge. The event is open to the entire running community and beyond. 

The Run for Recovery 5K is a road race that aims to:

• Create a safe and inclusive space for runners and walkers of all ages and abilities

• Raise funds and awareness for The Release Foundation

• Shatter the stigma surrounding mental health, substance abuse, and addiction

• Prove that everyone is capable of accomplishing anything they set their mind to

Event Details

When: Sunday, September 13th 2026 @ 9:00 AM

Where: Start & End in front of Sports Basement Presidio

What: 5K (3.1 Mile) Race

Who: ANYone and EVERYone. Strollers and dogs are also welcome. Strollers and dogs MUST start at the back and be careful not to impede other participants.

Bathroom Access: There are Men's & Women's Bathrooms located inside Sports Basement Presidio.

More About The Release Foundation

The Release Foundation helps individuals and families overcome financial barriers to addiction recovery, mental health treatment, and continued care while building communities that reduce stigma and promote healing. They stand with all who are ready to begin their journey toward a life worth living.

The Release Foundation scholarship model enables rapid placement into treatment, a clear financial plan, and a roadmap to career readiness. They offer dedicated funds for at-risk communities, including LGBTQIA+ individuals, Black and Indigenous People of Color, women, youth and young adults, and veterans. Scholarships go towards treatment, sober living support, and recovery coaching & resources.

Registration Fees

REGULAR: Through September 11th: $45 (+ service fee)

AT BIB PICK UP: September 12th: $55 (+service fee) via card - Cash and Checks are also accepted

RACE DAY: $65 (+ service fee) via card - Cash and Checks are also accepted

Parent-Child Admission: $80 (+ service fee)

All entry fees are NON-REFUNDABLE. Transfers are subject to a $5 administrative fee.

Race Day Parking & Post-Race Celebration Tent Set-Up

The event is part of the Presidio Trust. Paid parking is the Tunnel Tops Park or Main Post. Free parking is available at East Beach. Please do not park at Sports Basement Presidio. Utilizing rideshare, car pool, or Muni is highly encouraged.
