The Mountain Swim Series provides experienced and organized Open Water Swimming to the Rocky Mountain Region. Swim and race in the open water at over a mile high in elevation! The Solstice Sunrise Swim is the first event in the series and a great warm up for other swims later in the year.
Participants have the opportunity to swim either a 500-YD race, 1.2 mile race or a 2.4 mile race. The race will start as a mass in-water "wet" start. Divisions will be both non-wetsuit and wetsuit for both men and women for each race. Awards will be given out to the top three finishers in each division for each race. Prizes are provided for the top three males and females in both wetsuit and non-wetsuit divisions for each race and for overall series winners at the end of the year.
Early Bird Registration Closes March 1. Race prices will become full price on that date.

6:15am - packet pickup begins
7:30am - packet pickup closes
7:45am - swimmer safety meeting
8:00am - 1 mile and 2 mile race starts
8:05am - 500 yard swim starts
9:00am - Cutoff for 1 mile swimmers
10:00am - Cutoff for 2 mile swimmers
10:15am - Awards and giveaways
Distances:
- 500-YD Swim (18 years old and under)
- 1.2 Mile Competitive Swim
- 2.4 Mile Competitive Swim
Time cut-offs:
All swimmers must be capable of completing the distance you have entered and must be able to complete your respective event within the given cut-off time.
- 500 YD - 15 Minutes
- 1.2 Miles – 1 hour
- 2.4 Miles – 2 hours
T-shirts are not guaranteed after June 8, 2025.
We will close online registration when we have reached our parking cap for this race (175 participants.)
All packet pickup will be the morning of the swim. Please plan to come and pick up your packets early!

The Mountain Swim Series is excited to be coming into its eleventh year in 2025! This series provides experienced and organized Open Water Swimming to the Rocky Mountain Region. Prizes are provided for the top three males and females in both wetsuit and non-wetsuit divisions for each race and for overall series winners at the end of the year. This series offers the opportunity to swim and race in the open water at over a mile high in elevation.
The 2025-series will consist of FIVE events.
All Mountain Swim Series events will be insured and supported by safety watercraft, lifeguards, and paramedics/EMTs, however, any person signing up for these events should be a competent swimmer in good health and be able to consistently hold a 2:30 per 100 yard pace or faster.
