About The Long Run · Spring Forward
Are you in it for The Long Run?
The Long Run will feature a give or take 5 mile loop around Jacobsburg State Park on a mixture of single track and gravel trails. The start and finish will be at the Equestrian Parking Lot. The loop has approximately 450 feet of elevation change. Those competing can select to run/hike the 5 mile event, the 3H or the 6H event.
Spring Forward is the rendition of The Long Run where the original course is run in its proper direction. This course is run counter clockwise from the start.
In registration you will have to select one event. For a lap to count you must complete it BEFORE the time cut off at 3H or 6H. This is a runner, hiker, walker friendly event!
Check-in times:
6:30AM–7AM for the 6H race
Anytime before 10AM for 3H or 5 mile race
Start times:
6H start time: 7:30AM (bib pickup by 7AM)
3H and 5 mile start time: 10:30AM (bib pickup by 10AM)
Kids Hill Climb
We are adding a Kids Hill Climb this year! This will start at 1:30PM before we do 3H and 6H awards. Kids will start from the start line, go down the hill to a turnaround point and collect an Easter egg, turn around and run up the entire hill to collect another Easter egg and run to the finish. The kids keep whatever is in their eggs! If you are registered for The Long Run, your child can race for free. No official timing or awards.
Awards
Race finisher pin for all finishers. Sustainable medals to top three male, female, and non-binary.
Aid
We are a cupless event. You must supply your own hydration. Coolers of water will be available to refill bottles between laps or before/after the event. This is a self-supported event — please bring your own fueling. Runners doing the 3H/6H event are allowed to have a bin or bucket less than 30 gallons in size for their aiding near the start/finish line. No limit on crew or support day of event. This event is spectator friendly.
Zero Carbon
This is a zero carbon event. The Running Kind will be subsidizing the cost to offset the event, however there will be an extra $1 added to your registration to offset the carbon emissions for your personal travel to and from the event. We are proud to partner with Native Energy to support a carbon offset project we believe in. The Running Kind will also be collecting monetary donations for the Jacobsburg Environmental Education Center.
Donation Drives
At this event we accept donations for Sneakers4Good and The Center For Animal Health and Welfare.
