About The Danube Canal Relays 2026

Can you believe that this is already our 4th Edition of The Danube Canal Relays (TDCR)?! You don't want to miss in on the action for this year's edition, get your team together who want to push the pace with you and be crowned 'The Danube Canal Relays' running champs (all in the name of fun, teamwork and bragging rights).

‘Coming Together To Build’ is our motto but this time around we want you and your team to Come Together To Race with us and ASICS! Including special guest, ASICS athlete Simon Boch - Who will be joining us for a panel talk on all things running and community.

Just in case you are new to the TDCRs or forgot how it works? Here's reminder of all you need to know and be prepared for, including our schedule:

1. Concept

The concept stays the same as the last years, 2KM relay whereby each team member will run 1KM one way and head back to complete the 2KM with a handover of the baton to the next team runner! Repeating this 4 times per team, before your total time is gathered.

To avoid overcrowding and keep the excitement going along the course, there will be starting heats for teams. Splitting heats into 3 with 8-9x teams per heat. Heats will be set up via estimated overall paces/estimated finishing times, this is to ensure a great racing atmosphere for all.

2. Rules

Each team to consist of 4 members (2 women & 2 men, mandatory). 25 teams will race for bragging rights, top finishes and awesome prizes! Your team needs to have at least one watch for timing, which will be attached to the baton. The baton will be handed over every time runners switch - NO runner starts their leg without the baton handover or baton in hand! Even if you see your team mate is coming in hot, wait behind the line. Once the last runner from your team crosses the finish line, don't forget to stop the watch! Then head over to our trusted timekeepers for them to record your team finish time - lack of proper timekeeping will be penalised in the form of added on time or DQ and/or revoking top finisher spot. 

3. Costs 

Each team needs to pay a contribution fee of 20 euros to bank account below:

By signing up your team, you commit to settling the contribution fee within a day off signing up.

Before you finish:

- Please make sure you have paid the 20 euros contribution fee.
- If there are any changes within your team after registration, please let us know immediately - viennarunco@gmail.com.
- We can only accept registrations with 4 complete and confirmed participants!
- False and duplicated names used to "just" make up a team will be automatically cancelled without notification.
- Please make sure at least one person from your team can make it to the bib collection & race briefing, bringing along with registration confirmation and Photo ID.
- There will be a final E-Mail sent out on the weekend before race week, as a reminder and also highlighting once again the event schedule.
