About Wandering Wilderness Won-Hundred V
About the Event
The Wandering Wilderness Won-Hundred is an annual community ride through Lincoln's own Wilderness Park. There is no race clock, no podium, just good people riding big miles together and celebrating our wonderful trails in the park. The fifth edition isn't changing much, we'll have two distances: a 100-mile ride built on four ~25-mile laps, and a 100 km ride built on three ~20-mile laps. Routes are intentionally loose to keep the day fresh: laps may run in reverse, figure-8, or go somewhere new entirely. You can come for the whole thing, ride a lap or three, or just ride what you can. All are welcome, no one is turned away. Every single person that rides with the group at some point during the day will be offered a patch and dubbed "a wizard of wilderness".
🌿 Support the Wilderness Park Expansion
This year, we're proud to be raising money for the Wilderness Park Expansion Project through Friends of Wilderness Park and their partner, Solidago Conservancy. They are working to acquire adjacent floodplain land to grow the park's total acreage — adding habitat, biodiversity, and more trail space for hiking and biking in Lincoln.
There is a $150,000 funding gap that needs to be filled by the end of the year. Over 97% of Nebraska is privately owned — this is a rare and special opportunity to protect land for our community. Every dollar counts.

FAQ
What pace should I expect?
The 100 mi group targets ~12 mph average; the 100 km group targets ~11 mph. We do our best to keep the group together, but keep the schedule in mind.
What about lunch?
We will take a lunch break mid-day and anyone that wants to can select an option from Sultan's Kite while registering. You can venmo @derekaug or bring cash to the event to pay for your order.
What about food and water?
The wizards will have some snacks and water on hand to share. You're welcome to stash a cooler or bag at base camp and we'll secure it as best we can. If you're worried about your gear, you can leave it in your car and swing back between laps to resupply. Water fountains at Densmore Park may or may not be running.
Where are the bathrooms?
Bathrooms at Densmore Park may or may not be open. The library is a nearby backup. In a pinch, the lead wizards' home is about a mile away.
Can I join mid-ride?
Yes! Ride leaders will post live location tracks to the event page and social media so you can track down the group between laps.
