Asian Health Services receives HHS funding and has Federal PHS deemed status with respect to certain health or health-related claims, including medical malpractice claims, for itself and its covered individuals.

  The mission of San Francisco Asian Women’s Shelter (SFAWS) is to eliminate domestic violence by promoting the social, economic, and political self-determination of women and all survivors of violence and oppression. SFAWS is committed to every person’s right to live in a violence-free home, with a specific focus on addressing the cultural and language needs of immigrant, refugee, and U.S.-born Asian and Arab women and their children. This mission is reflected in SFAWS’s comprehensive approach, which integrates culturally grounded and language-accessible services, including crisis lines, emergency shelter, transitional housing, community engagement and violence prevention programs, training and education, systems and policy advocacy, and cultural change initiatives. The community is the heart of Asian Women’s Shelter. Our work is shaped and sustained by the very communities we serve. It’s not just about providing services—it’s about ensuring those services reflect the diverse experiences, strengths, and needs of our community. We believe that every person has a role in this work, and together, we can build a future where safety, healing, and justice are possible for all.

• Donate to AYPAL: Building API Community Power

  AYPAL started in 1998 in response to increasing gang activity, truancy, and substance abuse issues among low-income Asian and Pacific Islander (API) youth. The project was also formed to address the marginalization of API youth voices in the burgeoning Bay Area youth movement. Since its founding, AYPAL has developed the leadership of hundreds of Youth Leaders and has engaged over 5000 young people in grassroots campaigns. More importantly, the organization has become a vital home where youth from different schools, neighborhoods and ethnicities can gather together to learn, discuss, and collectively change the adverse conditions impacting their lives. Today, AYPAL is a leader in youth movement building. AYPAL is working in partnership with other Oakland youth organizations around the Oakland Youth Vote, a policy allowing 16- and 17- year olds to vote for school board directors. AYPAL also helped to edit and pilot the Cambodian American Studies Model Curriculum and Vietnamese American Experiences Model Curriculum for California in the last couple of years.

• Donate to Project by Project

  Project by Project is a 100% volunteer led and run AAPI organization helping raise awareness and funds for underserved causes in the AAPI community. This year, we'll be focusing our efforts on Community Development. Each year, Project by Project hosts the AAPI community's largest tasting event, Plate by Plate, inviting AAPI culinary and beverage partners to sample their best bites and sips to help raise awareness and funds for underserved social causes. To date, the organization has raised over $1 million dollars in funding for AAPI causes and organizations.
