About Chase the Throne Charlotte

Chase the Throne is a four week head-to-head elimination racing tournament. At the start of the tournament, every runner is randomly placed into a March Madness style bracket in their city. Each week our team picks a segment in each city. Each week runners have to post a time faster than their opponent on that segment in order to advance. There are four rounds of competition and in the last round the final competitors all race for their shot at the throne.

The opening round (1/5-1/11) in Charlotte kicks off January 5 with a 3.4 mile segment along the Stewart Creek Greenway. Round two (1/12-1/18) sends the surviving runners up E Mallard Creek Church Drive, followed by round three (1/19-1/25) through Oakhurst. The final round (1/26-2/1) will taking runners through the Little Sugar Creek Greenway. Full segment details are available on the Trials of Miles website here. 

This year, all registered runners will also receive a Chase the Throne hat from Fractel, available for pickup at Charlotte Running Company during the first week of competition.
