About KEJ: Gravel
KEJ Gravel is more than a ride — it’s a movement on two wheels.
Set in the rugged, rolling terrain of Lake Hope State Park, KEJ Gravel brings riders together for a day of challenging gravel, scenic backroads, and meaningful connection — all in support of mental health awareness and suicide prevention.
This event is built for riders who love adventure, community, and riding with intention. Expect winding gravel roads, punchy climbs, quiet forest stretches, and routes that remind you why you fell in love with riding in the first place.
Distance Options
20-Mile Route — Perfect for newer gravel riders, casual riders, or anyone looking to enjoy the scenery and ride with purpose.
37-Mile Route — A longer, more demanding option featuring additional elevation, extended gravel sectors, and a solid challenge for experienced riders.
Both routes are fully supported and designed to highlight the best gravel and natural beauty the park has to offer.
About KEJ
“KEJ” are the initials of Kristine Elizabeth Jónsson, daughter of Steinn "Stan" and Kristin Jónsson. Kristine was a kindhearted, deeply loved 16-year-old honor student at Hilliard Darby High School and a talented artist. She was lost to suicide in 2020, leaving the Jónssons devastated. Fast forward to 2025, Stan Jónsson joined the Ride for Hope bikepacking adventure, and his family and story left an impact. This event is free with a fundraising pledge for participants to raise funds for mental health support! The money raised will go toward grants for families in crisis, while honoring Kristine's life!
