About Chase the Throne San Francisco

Chase the Throne is a four week head-to-head elimination racing tournament. At the start of the tournament, every runner is randomly placed into a March Madness style bracket in their city. Each week our team picks a segment in each city. Each week runners have to post a time faster than their opponent on that segment in order to advance. There are four rounds of competition and in the last round the final competitors all race for their shot at the throne.

The opening round (1/5-1/11) in San Francisco kicks off January 5 with a three-mile segment through Golden Gate Park. Round two (1/12-1/18) sends the surviving runners up Twin Peaks, followed up round three (1/19-1/25) along the Great Highway. The finals (1/26-2/1) will feature an iconic out-and-back across the golden Gate Bridge. Full segment details are available on the Trials of Miles website here. 

This year, all registered runners will also receive a Chase the Throne hat from Fractel, available for pickup at A Runner's Mind during the first week of competition.
