About We Out Here Trail Festival 2026
This trail race is designed with first timers in mind: if you’ve never run a trail race before but have been itching to try one, this race is for you! In 2025, 66% of participants identified as first-time trail runners.
THE VISION: We imagine a world where everyone feels welcome to find joy in the trails – free from fear or intimidation, and surrounded by a supportive community.
We Out Here Trail Fest provides an opportunity for runners of all levels, from new athletes to seasoned elites, to compete in a fun, friendly, and welcoming trail event. This event has been thoughtfully designed to reflect the diverse community we envision for the future of the sport.
While ALL runners are enthusiastically welcomed, we are extending a warm invitation to individuals from underrepresented communities – including Black people, people of color, and people of all races and ethnic identities who have never participated in a trail race before – to join us in making this a truly inclusive event.
THE RACE
Saturday, June 13th
Race starts at 4:30pm
The race will be hosted at the beautiful St. Edwards State park along a looped course.
The looped course will allow participants to enjoy lots of crowd support and keep the races entertaining for spectators. All race participants will receive a medal upon crossing the finish line and access to non alcoholic drinks and snacks in the festival area. The festival area will also include free face painting, children's activities, and more!
We will offer the following distances:
1.9 miles (1 loop)
3.8 miles (2 loops)
5.7 miles (3 loops)
2 hours
(all race distances are approximate)
Note: Unnecessary waste and trash is something we are working to eliminate at events. As an organization dedicated to maintaining a clean race and doing our part to keep our trails beautiful and pristine, starting this year, we will be going joining HydraPak’s sustainable racing program. This means we are eliminating the use of disposable cups at all our races. Runners will instead receive a reusable HydraPak SpeedCup for use on and off the course
