About Boston Twilight 5000

Boston, the birthplace of the Twilight 5000 series, holds a special place in our hearts. At Henry G. Steinbrenner Stadium, we return to our roots to celebrate the city's rich running heritage and the passionate community that has supported us from the beginning. Dedicated pacers and like-minded competitors are there to keep you on pace and the constant support of your local community carries you throughout the race. This is more than just a track meet; it's a gathering of individuals united by the love of running, offering a unique blend of competition and camaraderie. 5000 meter heats are organized based on goal time and will get progressively faster throughout the night.

The Tracksmith Twilight 5000 Series is elevating the competition and excitement this year! Here are the new additions for the 2026 series, ensuring more opportunities for competition, community, and fast times under the lights.

This year we are also proud to announce that $5 of each registration fee for the Twilight 5000 will go to support the Tracksmith Foundation, which is dedicated to giving more people the opportunity to participate in track and field.

Heat Winner Awards: Recognizing the top performance in every section, competitive spirit will be rewarded across all heats.

Relay Heat: Gather your fastest friends! A new relay heat offers a fresh, collaborative dimension to the evening.

The Tracksmith Foundation will be hosting a pair of high school mile races at this year’s Twilight 5000. The races will be special, competitive opportunities for high school athletes from under-resourced schools in NYC and Boston. If you know of an athlete who would be a great fit for this opportunity, please email Foundation@tracksmith.com with the following information: Name of the Athlete, School and 2026 mark in either the 1500, 1600, or mile.
